A hare bounds through wild grasses where seedheads tremble, brambles twist, and the woodland edge opens toward far-off rolling hills. Caught mid-motion, he moves with bright alertness — a fleeting moment of energy, instinct, and open landscape freedom.
Rendered in bold black and white, his path unfolds in simple lines and patterns inspired by Scandinavian folk art.
A countryside moment shaped by gentle magic, movement, and the quiet thrill of the chase through meadow and hill.
White Porcelain Stoneware clay – Black slip – Transparent stoneware glaze.
The illustration is carved through a layer of black slip to reveal the white clay surface beneath, using a method called sgraffito. The style echoes linocut graphic work. Each platter is entirely unique and takes hours of carving, resulting in a beautifully tactile, relief-like surface.
*This plate is a second, there is a slight over-smudge of black on one edge and some shadow marking on the rim (shown in last two pictures) It is still a beautiful plate but I have reduced the price to reflect these slight flaws.
Size: 250 x 220 x 30mm deep.
