Where The Dandelions Drift
Handbuilt Vase with Carved Slip Decoration
A lively woodland tale wrapped around a sculptural form. This handbuilt vase features a fox leaping through tall grasses, wildflowers and seed heads, while dandelion clocks drift on the night air, carried on carved lines that sweep across the surface. Above, rolling fields and trees create a layered landscape, held between twin branch-like handles that give the vase its striking, almost mythical silhouette.
Every detail is carved by hand through black slip to reveal the white clay beneath — the traditional sgraffito technique that creates the linocut-like textures and crisp monochrome contrasts. Each vase is completely unique, and this one is particularly full of energy: movement, flora and pattern flowing seamlessly around the form.
Made from white earthenware clay with black slip and finished with a transparent glaze.
A bold statement piece — playful, detailed, and full of story.
Size: approx. 22cm tall, 19.5cm wide.
