Cheeky Hooty Owl carved decorations.
 
I cut these birds from porcelain, paint on a layer of black liquid clay and then scrape this off to reveal the white clay beneath (this method is called sgraffito). They are then glazed and fired. They are very pleasing to feel as you can still detect the texture from the carving beneath the glaze.
 
Each owl is individually carved and so, therefore, each one has their own unique expression and personality!
