At the Edge of Elsewhere
A hare pauses at the meeting of field and woodland, beneath a crescent moon and a sky scattered with quiet stars. Beyond the curve of the vessel, the land stretches into soft, patterned fields, while the trees gather close behind — a place of crossing, of choosing, of slipping between worlds.
The folded form reveals two landscapes at once — the open distance and the sheltering edge — held together in a single, shifting view.
Part of my new Hidden Place series, this vessel explores those threshold spaces in the landscape — the edges where something changes, and the familiar becomes quietly unknown.
Hand-built and carved using the sgraffito technique, each piece is a sculptural landscape, shaped to invite the eye inward and beyond.
Made in porcelain stoneware and individually finished, each piece carries its own subtle variations and character.
Approx. 140 × 110 × 45 mm — a vessel holding a moment on the edge of somewhere else.
