Hoot! Who Goes There?
A small, watchful creature waits beneath the hedgerow, wide-eyed among leaves and berries, while beyond the vessel’s curve the land opens into moonlit fields and a sky pricked with stars.
The folded form reveals two worlds at once — the close, hidden tangle of the foreground, and the quiet sweep of the landscape beyond.
Part of my new Hidden Place series, this piece explores those secret in-between spaces — where something is always watching, and the ordinary begins to feel quietly enchanted.
Hand-built and carved using the sgraffito technique, each vessel is a small sculptural landscape, shaped to draw the eye inward and through.
Made in porcelain stoneware and individually finished, each piece carries its own subtle variations and character.
Approx. 140 × 110 × 45 mm — a vessel holding its own hidden night.
