A Place That Knows You
A hare rests among grasses and small hedgerow flowers, while beyond the curve of the vessel the land opens into gently rolling fields beneath a pale, open sky.
There is no urgency here — only the quiet rhythm of a place that carries on, unnoticed and undisturbed.
The folded form reveals two landscapes at once — the close, intimate foreground and the wider countryside beyond — held together in a single, unfolding view.
Part of my new Hidden Place series, this vessel explores those familiar, often overlooked corners of the landscape — the places that feel quietly known, as though they have been waiting all along.
Hand-built and carved using the sgraffito technique, each piece is a small sculptural world, shaped to invite the eye inward and through.
Made in porcelain stoneware and individually finished, each piece carries its own subtle variations and character.
Approx. 140 × 110 × 45 mm — a vessel holding a place of gentle stillness.
