White stoneware and charcoal carved ceramic coasters.
Each of these coasters are individually carved using a technique called 'sgraffito' which is a form of decoration made by scratching through a coloured clay surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting colour clay underneath. The coasters are then glazed with a satin finish to further enhance the beautiful tactile 'relief' surface.
I finish the coasters with a layer of cork to protect surfaces.
