My new little character, Horris the Hedgehog carved decorations.
 
I cut these hedgehogs from porcelain, paint on a layer of black liquid clay and then scrape this off to reveal the white clay beneath (this method is called sgraffito). They are then glazed with a lovely satin finish and fired. They are very pleasing to feel as you can still detect the texture from the carving beneath the glaze.
 
Each hedgehog is individually carved and so, therefore, each one has their own unique expression and personality!
